People’s Design Scooping Bowl on Shark Tank

People’s Design Scooping Bowl on Shark Tank

May 6, 2017 by Darin Gibby

Tyler Peoples was on Shark Tank tonight.  He’s from Colorado Springs and is a chef turned inventor.  Tyler caught my attention because I see so many people who try to patent kitchen gadgets.  Most of the products are not successful.  Tyler touted he had a utility patent on his scooping bowl.  I was curious, so I looked it up.

True enough, he does have a patent.  It is U.S. Patent No. 8,911,142. I looked up the patent on the patent office website and the claims are actually quite decent.  I’m wondering if that was why Lori gave him a quick offer.   I was quite shocked when he didn’t immediately take her offer as there was no way he was going to sell this on his own–seeing he has only sold 200 of them.  I breathed a sigh of relief when he finally took her offer.

Here is the link to his product in case you are interested.  I hope he sells a ton of these.
