It’s Official! My agent just landed a deal with Potomac Books for my sixth book.

The Gentleman’s Bribe: How Colt Revolvers Turned Congressmen into Racketeers is a true story about Sam Colt’s patent attorney, Edward Dickerson, who got caught bribing members of Congress to extend the term of Colt’s revolver patent.

Though Congressional hearings were held, nothing was ever proven. But I found Dickerson’s accounting ledgers deep within the archives of the New Jersey Historical Society and they reveal a level of Congressional corruption far exceeding a simple patent extension.
